I highly recommend Gabriel in his business. He is a pleasure to talk to and he treats you like family.Gabriel arranged for his associate, Roberto, to meet me and see what the problem was. Long story short I need to tip them later for just being nice individuals. Too many times we complain and write bad reports when thing go wrong but say very little when a job is well done.Many thanks to Gabriel and Roberto.p.s. My wife was having a bad day and accidentally backed her car into the garage door.

Called Gabriel just before noon about getting a new overhead spring coil to replace our broken one expecting the job to be done in a few days. To our delight he was over by 3pm following work he had done in Raleigh and did a great job. He also replaced our worn out spinning wheels for a reasonable price. Excellent, fast, affordable service from a very nice local business owner. Highly recommended.

The garage door rollers came off the side rails and bent the rails. We were in a pretty fragile situation with both cars in the garage, no way out, and the potential for the garage door to fall on the cars. Everyone I called told me it would be at least 24 hours, Gabriel said he'd be over as soon as he finished his current call. He was professional, honest, and very reasonably priced for a complicated job. It was also freezing outside. Do not hesitate using North State for any garage door needs - I was very fortunate to come across Gabriel and his local business.

We called Gabriel last week after our garage door coil/spring broke at 8:30 at night. He immediately text me to say he could be at my house by 8:00 am and he was! He was extremely professional and got our cars out of the garage so my wife could get to work before he fixed the problem. He had the parts in his truck and fixed it within an hour. we were extremely delighted with his service and will only call him from now on. By the way, I am still waiting on Overhead door to respond to my call a week later. No one is better than Gabriel at North State Garage Doors!

The best! We had an ancient garage door that wasn't properly sealed, so mice were getting into our garage. Tare and Gabriel answered their phones, came to our house the same day to measure the door, got us a fast quote, and then replaced the door. The whole process from first call to finish took less than 3 days! The installation was just a few hours and they were quiet and respectful and left our space clean. Our new door is properly sealed (and insulated now, which is a huge plus!) and we look forward to less mice in our garage. We would definitely recommend them and will hire them again for any garage issues in the future.

I had a busted torsion spring on my garage door. Called 6pm that night as I wanted to replace both springs. They gave me a quick estimate over the phone and said they could fix it the next day in the morning. The tech arrived at 8am the next day. We confirmed the work needed before he started. The tech replaced both springs in about 30 minutes and made sure the garage door was operating correctly. Very efficient, professional, and reasonable prices.

I requested a quote on the North State Garage Door web site for replacing 2 old garage door openers. They responded very quickly with a reasonable quote and answered all of my questions. I wasn't able to be home for the repair and trusted Gabriel to take care of things professionally, promptly, and without breaking the bank. Excellent service!! They are very professional! I called them Saturday evening because my garage door won't close. Although they were not able to schedule a service appointment for me right away since it's already 7pm on Saturday, they still came over to identify the problems and helped me get the door closed for the rest of the weekend. I knew they were heading to dinner but they still responded to my call right away and stopped by, during after-hours!! Then they came over again on Monday morning with all the equipment and parts, and get the door fixed in around 30 minutes! Now my garage door is working perfectly fine!!! They also offered a 1-year warranty on their service. How nice! Reasonable pricing! I highly recommend their service!!!!!

We recently had our garage door fixed and were very happy with the service. We thought we would need a whole new door, but turns out we really needed the hardware on our existing door fixed. I called when my garage door wouldn’t open. The service I received over the phone was excellent. Someone troubleshooted with me over the phone. I sent pictures and was immediately able to get a diagnosis over the phone. The large spring was broken. Anyone else would have charged a service fee to come out to do the same thing. My mind was put at ease knowing the issue.

They set up appointment for following day and communicated on arrival times via text during the day. Called for information about window inserts. They came out and suggested the inserts but also moving the panels - which was such a great idea, one we had not thought of. Also had nylon ball bearing and bottom rubber seals replaced. Very happy.

I have used them a couple of times for my garage door needs. They are very capable and have a growing business. However, they offer a 5 year warranty but don't follow through on it. We had a large expensive garage door put in, and it was not installed correctly. Due to the incorrect installation, it needs frequent maintenance. We have been contacting them for years and they offer to come out, but don't follow through on showing up. At this point, I'm' giving up and going to start over with another company, or I'm just going to fix it myself.If this approach works for you, then I would recommend them. However, if you're looking for a company to honor their warranty, just move on.If you do decide to go with them, here are a few things I would do differently next time:1) Get everything in writing. I feel like there were some promises made that I did not get in writing and perhaps that introduced some confusion for their business.2) Carefully double-check everything with the installation as soon as its complete. Take photos and document anything that isn't quite right. Contact them right away and start building a paper trail.3) If you have to contact them for customer support, make it a priority in your life because you'll probably need to contact them several times just to get a response or for them to follow through on their appointment.

I called North State on a Friday evening to fix a broken torsion spring, after several other companies could not help me until the following week. Gabriel was able to give me the option of having an emergency visit that evening (extra charge) or have someone at my house first thing Saturday morning. I chose the latter since I was able to lift the door manually.The repairman arrived promptly the next morning and was able to replace the garage door spring within a couple of hours. Gabriel checked in to make sure I was happy with the work and I was. I was also able to receive and pay the invoice online, maximizing my convenience.I highly recommend North State for their work and customer interactions. I would not hesitate to call them again for additional work.

I was having my car serviced and was provided with a loaner. Somewhere between the loaner and my repaired car, my garage door opener went missing! I didn't have a back up. I called North State Garage in a panic and Gabriel suggested I go get a Universal Clicker and he would walk me through the process for programming the new garage door opener, even thought it was very easy to do. I bought a universal clicker and was able to program it myself. I offered to send Gabriel something, but he refused. Given the times, the pandemic, the lack of accountability, it was so refreshing to receive such helpful and patient advice from North State Garage Doors. Thank you so much!

I called to cancel a free estimate visit because something came up. I intended to reschedule but I was told me to go look elsewhere to get the job done. He continued to act unprofessionally by sending me several text messages in a row after I canceled, none of which were necessary. The last text I was sent by them could easily be interpreted as a mild threat. It says, "And next time, before you share your address, do your research.. that way a person and/or company that you are not happy and satisfied with DOES NOT have your home address." I'll be happy to email anybody a screenshot if you'd like to see it. Totally unprofessional!This is not the way a business should respond when somebody's schedule changes and they have to cancel a FREE, non-binding estimate.And in response to what they responded below, I am the one who canceled first. They only declined after I told them I needed to cancel and reschedule. Otherwise, they still would have come to the property, waster gas, and given a quote.As a business, they need to realize people's schedules change. When schedules change, they need to learn to roll with the punches and not harass customers, who have a right to change their mind.

I was rushing last Thursday evening and while I was in a hurry I backed into our garage door which we purchased Sept 2020 from North State Garage Doors LLC. I immediately called North State Garage and North State came to the rescue. He remembered our purchased from last year and was eager to assist. I felt terrible about backing into my garage. The gentleman on the phone made me feel at ease and assured me that I wasn't the only person that had backed into their garage. He came out the next day to assess the damage. I was provided with an estimate and on the following Monday the gentleman came out to repair the portion of the garage that I damaged. North State is the best. Great service and affordable prices.

Owner Gabriel Colon and his amazing team at North State Garage Doors did an amazing install on 2 separate garage door systems for us on 5/22/21. He has worked on 2 different houses we have lived in over the last 10 years and did work for my neighbor who raved about his prompt service as well last year. Gabriel is a trustworthy, courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, competitively priced, and a truly outstanding hands on business owner. He was part of the install team so I have seen him in action by himself for repairs and also seen him in action as part of a couple installs. He is very responsive and listens to his client's needs and then makes recommendations that makes sense for each client. This is not the first time I use North State Garage Doors for a different issue with my garage door, and just like my first experience with them, this second time was great! I noticed that my garage door was not opening evenly on Friday night and it was because one of the metal wire had snapped. I tried calling several other companies on Saturday morning and the only one that answered was them. It wasn't until I spoke to T.J (the owner) that I realized they were the same company I had used before, so now I made sure to save their information for future references.After I explained what the issue was with the door, Raul (the technician) showed up in a timely manner and was very professional, polite and friendly.I would definitely recommend North State Garage Doors to anyone having big or small issues with their garage doors.

These guys were great last fall when I bought the deer and they installed, but even better wa their response this week when I had issues with the door. When I reached out to them I actually spoke to the same guy who sold me the door and installed it with his team. They had a packed schedule of installations but fit me in the very next afternoon, fixed the issue in about 15 minutes and headed out. Very friendly, very customer focused, quick service, I could not recommend them more highly !

I called North State Garage Doors Sunday night when the spring on my garage door gave up the ghost (of course AFTER I had parked my car in the garage). This was after I had called other companies who wouldn’t be available in time for me to take my daughter to school the next morning. They came early Monday morning in plenty of time for me to get my daughter to school and the gentleman who came for right to work. By the time I returned, he was almost done and was even nice enough to change the last two rollers my Dad and I hadn’t been able to get to the other week!I will definitely be using them for my future garage door needs!!

He came back next day and fixed it in less than an hour. I inquired on how to maintain and what to lubricate. Very helpful! Don't wait until your door breaks, but even so I would call them.

They replaced my spring and rollers; 8 year warranty. Responsive - Picked up phone as soon as I called and came the same morning. Professional - Called me to discuss what needed fixing and pricing. Replaced parts quickly and called me again after. Was able to pay over phone. Will definitely call them again!

This is the second time I have used North State Garage Doors and equally please with service this time as I was the first. Had a spring snap on an older garage door in Durham. They were able to send someone the next day and fix it on the spot. It is a rental and the tenant was happy with how he was treated. Really good communication, I knew when they were scheduled, text me when they were on the way, called me with an update once they diagnosed the issue. I never had to go over there! If needed I'll happily use them again.

My garage door stopped working correctly (it would not close or open completely). North State Garage Doors responding to my call very quickly; and addressed the immediate concern. We then talked about my current garage door mechanism and agreed to replace it. They did that 2 days later (response time was incredible); and now I have a working garage door that is much quieter and works without issue. Their ability to respond quickly and with good equipment was fantastic. I recommend them to anyone needing help with their garage door.

North State did an amazing job. Their arrival for evaluation/estimate was timely and accurate. They offered clear choices of options for repair vs replacement of the garage doors. I elected to replace my 35 year old doors. They ordered the doors right away. Due to all the supply chain issues, I expected a long delay. The month it took the doors to come in was not bad at all. As soon as the doors came in, they scheduled the install right away. The install was perfect, all the company employees I met were extremely competent and pleasant, the communication was great and the price was very reasonable for a project that included replacement of all the rails and the electronic opener. Great job guys!!

Raul came and conquered our issue within less than 1 hour! We had a Lifestyle retractable screen put in and needed the lock wire removed and sensors replaced. Raul was fantastic, nice and personable. I would definitely recommend North State for your garage door needs!!!

TJ and Gabriel responded very quickly to my request for a quote. They asked the right questions to determine what I needed and discussed options and costs as well as time impacts. They had doors in stock that suited my needs and found a way to have them installed the same day. Raul worked steadily and completed the removal of two old wooden doors and installation of two new steel doors in just a few hours, then demonstrated the function of the new doors and removed all the old door parts and new packing materials. Review
I called to schedule an appointment on a Sunday (YES-they answered the phone!!!) when the spring on my door broke. The young lady was very professional in scheduling an appointment for me the next day, Monday. As promised, Gabriel and Roberto showed up on time and evaluated the issue. Unfortunately, my garage door was a “Wayne-Dalton”, which uses a propriety spring design (which broke after only a couple of years usage). Gabriel advised that he could install a stronger spring which would last longer. He did have to order the spring, but he and Roberto showed up the next day, at the appointed time (after 5:30, as I had to work) and completed the repair. The work was done quickly, professionally, and the cost was less than anticipated. I would recommend this firm to anyone looking for a repair to their garage door!
